Received email about fraudulent log in

I received a message stating:

my "apple ID was used to sign in to iMessage on an iPhone 6s Plus named “Hh4GkFL7”.

If the information above looks familiar, you can ignore this message.

If you have not recently signed in to an iPhone 6s Plus with your Apple ID and believe someone may have accessed your account, go to Apple ID (https://appleid.apple.com) and change your password as soon as possible.

If I change my password will that kick off anyone fraudulently using my account? Thank you.
