apple watch recycle value

Is there any sort of value or trade-in value for an apple watch that is not functioning? I notice that the trade-in program advertises "free recycling" of an apple watch that doesn't work, and I assume this is their nice way of saying that there is no $ value besides that. Please advise! Thanks.
