How do I update my iPhoto with the 64Bit?

Did I lose all of my photos?

1. You can't. No version of iPhoto will run in Catalina; it requires a 32-bit library.

2. No. Launch Photos with the Option key held down, click on Other Library, and choose the iPhoto one; if you choose to use a non-Apple alternative, check its documentation for instructions on importing the iPhoto library.
