Apple Sharing contacts
I changed recently to iCloud family sharing and now my wife’s iPhone has access to all my contacts.
how do I prevent it and how do I revert to her original private contacts?
iPhone 6 Plus, iOS 11

Thanks a lot for answering and helping me. this is quite painful and I cannot yet resolve it.
I did check, and my wife uses a different Apple ID than mine.
It all started when I initiated family sharing a couple of weeks ago. noticed today that both our contacts are merged on both phones.
Checked as you suggested and we are having different Apple IDs.
How did this happen? what can be done?
My wife is not using any other cloud, and the ones I use are not used for contacts backup at all.
The fact is that we do not use same Apple ID, and we do not use any other common cloud and do not store contact on any other than icloud.
There must be an explanation for this situation.
Then you must somehow have shared your contacts. Try creating a new "test" contact entry and see if it shows up on her iPhone.
If it doesn't, good news! contacts are not sharing and you can clean up the unneeded entries from each iPhone.
Contacts are not shared when using family sharing. Are you sure your wife is not logged in with the same Apple ID as you?
How can I check this?
and also - if I turn off sharing of purchases will this solve the problem?
You can check which Apple ID the phone is logged into by going to settings > [your name].
Family sharing does not merge contacts between users.
So if somehow your contacts have been shared/merged this must be because of some other cloud service that you are using that is not iCloud.
