Apple Intelligence is now available on iPhone, iPad, and Mac!
In the last few days the Facebook messenger app has not been opening. I’ve gone via Facebook and tried to open it that way but still keep closing the app before it’s even opened. I have rebooted my phone, it’s still not opening. I’ve heard there are issues but nothing definite, and don’t know what f it’s confined to iPhone 11 or not?
Can someone help.

As of today the Messenger App on my iPhone 11 Pro Max is shutting down before it even opens. I cannot access it through Facebook either. I have rebooted my phone and it is still not initiating. It will also not open through the App Store.
Just to say it's not just iphone11
My 5SE just started doing this as well, If i try to open messenger it just flashes up then vanishes from the screen.
When showing all open apps it shows as open, but it just won't connect. Like you I also tried via FB.
I have it set to auto-update, so everything should have been up to date... :/
I went into app store, searched for FB messenger and there was an option to update, so i tapped on that, the little circle went round..... then it offered 'open' so I did, and it's now working. I have closed and reopened it a couple of times, and it's all good.
Ask Facebook for help with their software.
I finally was able to find an update for Messenger in Apps and that did the trick for my iPhone 11. Fixed!
