Why can't I access my iCloud email on my Android phone?

Why won't apple let me access my iCloud email on my Android phone ?

And I've tried this multiple times on my samsung and it just won't connect. Searched everywhere and it keeps pointing back to app specific password. I've started and tried that at least 4 times without success.
