iPhone 5 SIM card to iPhone xr

I have an old iPhone 5/7, I honesty am not sure which it is...with the SIM card still in it and I would like to get the pictures off of it, will it ruin my iPhone XR if I put the old SIM card in to save pictures to the phone, then put in the right SIM card again????
