I forgot the passcode on my new phone

The passcode is stored only on the phone, so it's not recoverable in the way that an Apple ID password is. You will have to erase the phone: please see https://support.apple.com/HT204306

Power off your iphone.

Then connect it to a computer and hold the side button

Then it will show you some recovery options
