Why do my Flags keep turning to all RED on my emails? I see that others have posted about this but not since 2016! It's impossible to use the Flags if they just keep turning to all Red!

Are they turning red like after logging out or restarting... or when?
I have this happening as well on my iPad Pro. I am running OS 13.5.1
I change the email flag colours to what I want and it looks fine in the side bar and then I have not even closed the mail app but all of a sudden the flags on all my emails in the Flagged section are all red. It is driving me nuts. I tried unflagging and then flagging in the colour I want but it made no difference.
I was still in Mail, not even moved out of Flagged to Inbox.
