MacBook update

My MacBook is stuck on the updating screen and hasn’t moved a inch for almost 12 hours. How do I stop the update?

hey Sami_soccer,

smart choice coming to apple communities with your question.

it helps out if you provided more specifics to your issue. however, not a problem. follow these articles in cascading(start at the top and work your way down, do not skip) order until you feel the issue is resolved. i would say the solution to this one would look something like, being on your desktop and have the ability to launch safari to visit any webpage. if they works, its safe to assume all else would also

the first one should suffice in all honesty but ill make sure you're covered just in case with some recommended next steps if you just so happen to run further into problems.

boot into safe mode, this helps isolate the cause of issue to something outside of the os. it can be a recent install of an app or something alike. any little change you can recall, is possible to have caused your issue basically. getting to your login in safe mode is usually enough but login to be safe. if nothing breaks while in safe mode, then the OS is clean and not the problem. consider the next step as the simplest of all solutions available if the OS is not the problem.

last resort: boot into recovery and reinstall os, even though OS is not the problem. it reverts all to as it should be, which is, in a functional state. so that is the purpose of this step and the simplest for a quick solution
