browser redirect to yahoo (practical remote)

i found out i accidently downloaded this safari extension called "practical remote". i researched it and found out it was a virus, and was the reason why my search engine kept redirecting to yahoo. i deleted the extension and the application, but my engine keeps redirecting to yahoo. is there any way i can fix this? i am willing to reset my macbook completely because i just got it and dont have any important stuff here.
