I have sought advice online and when I close my MacBook Pro my external screen goes off. I have attempted to wake the device with keyboard and mouse but it states that it cannot find a devices signal on the external display. I am using an genuine apple USB-C to VGA which is connected to a dell screen. The external display does work but ONLY when the MacBook is open. Please can you assist?
Hi thanks for responding. I am using VGA for the display. I have attached external mouse and keyboard. Display works perfect on both my Mac and external screen when open. However as soon as it is closed they both go off and it does not allow me to ‘wake’ the external display?
when i close my laptop the external display also goes off
