Timeline - what did Ido?

I was trying to edit a small blank spot in the timeline.

This is the timeline i normally see.

Then I must have pressed something and my timeline looked like this

How do I change back and forth between these views of the timeline?

What is this timeline view.

I have never seen this before.

FCPX 10.4.8

iMac 27″, OS X 10.11
