I have tried to order an iMac. Went through the selection, gave credit card number, address and there was no place to indicate 'place order'. Was my order accepted?

We are not Apple, only fellow users, so have no information about whether your order was, or was not placed. You should have received an email confirmation if the order was placed correctly.
