I bought a apple ipad mini 4 off some one that has activation lock on it now I can't get ahold of him. Any ways to get this off

I bought a apple ipad mini from a friend but it has a activation lock on it.. now I can't get ahold of him to get the apple icloud account to take off the activation lock. Is there a way past this?

Sorry you got scammed if the seller is not helping.

Activation Lock is a theft deterrent feature with no bypass or workaround.

Without the owner's authorisation (Apple ID & password), no thief or anyone including you can re-use the device.
