can iPadOS format drives

Can iPadOS on a iPad Pro be used to format SD cards and external drives?

if so, how?

No. The iPad has no facility to format external media or drives.


You must either use a PC, Mac or other computer to format drives to either FAT, FAT32, exFAT or APFS - with a single data partition. NTFS and other Microsoft proprietary formats are not supported by iPad.


Media formatted by a device, such as camera, must also format to one of the supported format types.
