Eliminating separate user after migration

I used MA to successfully migrate from an old imac (High Sierra) to the new one (Catalina). I was afraid to select 'replace' when it came to the user so I opted to 'rename'. Now I have to separate users on my new imac and I really don't need that and don't want to toggle back and forth honestly. Lazy, sorry!

Can I somehow transfer the old files (I called this user "Old Donna") to just be visible when signing into my new user on the new imac? Hope that question makes sense. I only want one user on the new imac, with all of the old files accessible etc.

Thank you!

See Transferring files from one User Account to another. The account you migrated has all your data. Why not log into and use that account? This will save you the work to transfer all your data into the new account. Then just delete the new account and stick with your migrated account.

Sure. Just pay a separate fee. Seriously, if you wish, you may keep the new user account for a "test" account. To delete the account, you need to be logged into the migrated account you want to keep. Open Users & Groups preferences pane. Click on the lock icon and enter your admin password as requested. Select the user account you wish to delete from the list, then click on the Delete [-] button. You will be given three or four options from which to choose. Choose the last option which fully deletes the account and click on the OK/Delete button.

You shouldn't lose anything from the account you migrated, if you migrated everything allowed. You will have the same user account on the new computer that was on the old computer. Of course, this will include third-party applications that may need upgrading if the new computer's version of macOS is a later version than what was installed on the old computer.

Thanks. Can you point me to a directions on deleting the new user account on the new imac so I can just save the old one? Sorry, this is the one thing about getting a new computer that just freaks me out!! Always afraid to lose things, or lose access to them and I confess to not understanding transferring info as well as I understand a lot of other tech processes! Thank you.

If I open Users/Groups while logged into the migrated account I want to keep (OldDonna) then the new Admin account is gray and cannot be selected for deletion. I've unlocked and that allows me to delete "guest user" which is off anyway, but I can't delete the new Admin created for the new imac. I assume I can just use the migrated account (old) and leave the new Admin behind the scenes so to speak. Thanks.
