iPhone 11 erasing recent phone calls

iPhone 11.

iOS 13.6.1.......up to date...

My iPhone 11 has started to erase my recent phone calls.

I have not changed any setting and do not usually delete any recent phone calls until I want or need to.

In the past to days, the iPhone 11 has erased/deleted my recent calls and there was a number I wanted to save....

I don't recall this happening before.

What is the issues and how can I fix it?

Also. Is there any way to recover the deleted calls?

Thank you in advance...

Hey there lvbassistcjs,

We understand that you've been noticing recent calls are being erased from your iPhone. This includes a number you need, and you want to see what can be done. We'll be happy to help.

To begin, your iPhone will store the 100 most recent calls. Are the calls that are erasing after 100 calls? If so, this would be expected.

Either way, we still have a few options. One would be to restore any backups that you have that were made while the call was still in your logs. To restore the backup, use these steps: Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch from a backup

Note that restoring the backup will revert back the state your device was in at the time the backup was made, so it might be possible for some data or content to be removed.

Another option might be to check with your carrier for the number you need. They may have logs on their end.

Also, if you share an Apple ID with anyone this might be expected too.

We hope this helps. Cheers!

lvbassistcjs,

Thanks for clarifying about the numbers. What you're experiencing definitely seems unexpected. We'd recommend updating to the latest version of iOS, 13.7. Use the steps here: Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

And if you do ever need those numbers, you do have the option of restoring one of those backups.

However, if it keeps occurring after the update, we'd recommend reaching out to Apple Support so they can look further into this with you. Reach out here: Get Support

Take care!

Sorry. Things have been way too busy......

I am bit confused as to how to change my wife's iPhone over to her Apple ID.

Right now she is on my ID and I am still losing calls or they are transferring to her phone and they are still erasing..

Actually, when she clears them, I lose them.

When I tried to sign out on her phone, my info stayed and asked if I forgot my password.

I don't want another password for me, but, I want her phone on her Apple ID....

Sorry....This stuff just confuses the **** out of me and I worry about losing info when changing things over......

What do I do?

Thank you

Thanks for your response and my apologies, I totally forgot about this and was intending to respond.

I will try this tomorrow as each Saturday, I backup my iPhone and the wife's iPhone and my iPad to our Mac Mini. My iPhone and iPad backup to the cloud automatically each week, but, I check everything one a week, backup, check for updates, Etc.

My wife does have an Apple ID and I will take care of this and get back to you on the outcome..

Thanks again...

lvbassistcjs,

We understand you did not experience the call log getting erased now, but you do see the call log from your wife's device.

This is going to be related to sharing an Apple ID with her device. To resolve the issue, you'll want to create a new Apple ID for her devices. This can be done with the steps here: How to create a new Apple ID

We understand you may have been sharing an Apple ID to share content. This may still be possible even with different Apple ID accounts if you use Family Sharing. This feature is explained in detail here: Family Sharing

Let us know if you have any questions with creating the ID or Family Sharing. Cheers!
