How to enable audio with native macOS screen sharing?

I'm trying to use the native screen sharing built into MacOS (between an iMac and Macbook), and it works great, but there's no audio for some reason. Changing the output on either machine doesn't seem to affect anything, and I'm unsure what else to try.

Is there a way to share audio output device from one Mac to another? I have two Macs (both are 2020 M1 devices). Mac One has a USD audio interface, with speakers hooked up to it. Is there a way I can stream or AirPlay audio from Mac Two to the audio device on Mac One? Both are running macOS 12.6. In System Preferences > Sharing, I have "AirPlay Receiver" activated on both computers. I figured that feature would likely mean I could at least Airplay from one computer to the other. But it doesn't seem to. Ideally, what I want is one Mac Two to set the sound output device to the USB audio device on Mac One. New Mac's library does not appear on ATV under "Computers" Long-time ATV user and I usually have one or two Mac libraries that I access through the ATV. In the past, when I got a new Mac it was quite straightforward to set it up so that I can see the library on the ATV. I got a new Mac Mini on Black Friday and I set it up as I usually do. I can AirPlay movies from the Mini library to the ATV, but the Mini library does not appear as a source in the ATV "Computers" menu. I checked that Media Sharing is enabled. Rebooted both the ATV and Mini. Ensured both are on the same network. Any advice? Thank you.

What are the requirements to have AirPlay Receiver with macOS Monterey? I have a iMac Late 2015, updated to Monterey, I am in the latest version. I don't see the AirPlay Receiver option in my System Preferences > Sharing > ... Where can I find system requirement compatibility? [Re-Titled by Moderator]

AFAICT Screen Sharing does not support audio.

Other remote control software might (TeamViewer? LogmeIn?) but I am not familiar with those. You may want to look them up if this is important for you.

Another possibility may be to run a Zoom session between the two computers.
