Why doesn’t my flashlight turn on

It’s possible to inadvertently launch the flashlihgt app with it dimmed all the way down.

I’d suggest you try isolating if it’s software or hardware before contacting Apple.

MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A BACKUP TO PREVENT DATA LOSS.

1. Check for updates and apply them if any.
2. Try a force restart: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201559
3. Try erasing all the data and reinstalling the system (THIS WILL DELETE YOUR DATA, check your backup first). https://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT201252
4. If the previous steps don’t work, the issue is related to the camera module and you’ll need to contact Apple for service via mail or in store. If you’re out of warranty or if your device has physical damage you’re likely to be charged for the service. Get help here: www.getsupport.apple.com

Step 4 is more likely from experience, but try the other steps first to be sure.
