Multi-Output Device is not showing up under Preferences> Sound

For some reason I keep losing audio. I noticed that the Multi-Output Device out is not showing up in the options under Preferences>Sound

When I select iShowU Audio Capture as my option for output there is no audio that comes out and it gives me this message "Setting for this selected device: The selected device has no output controls"

Can you guys help me resolve this?

I unchecked all the audio out devices under MIDI > Multi-Output Devices then I started to check them the ones I used one by one. Then the Multi-Output Device showed up under "Sound".

Why does it disappear and I have to do this to enable it?

I would like to just have it setup and not have to keep setting it.
