Sensor burn Apple Watch 4
So... I have also experienced this sensor burn I have read from several posts on here.
I had contacted the Apple service point here in the Netherlands, sent in pictures and all of that and the contact person seems to be helpful, understanding and also believes (though he has never heard about it before) that it must be a burn.
He got back to me however and told me that the engineers want to classify this as an allergic reaction. He asked for clarification because he doesn’t believe it to be the case and neither do I.
So here is the argument as to why it is impossible for this to be an allergic reaction. I have owned this watch since May of 2019. I have NEVER, had any sort of reaction to it. Like nothing, ever.
Now there was the 2020 updates, and the only other change is that I started working out and getting in shape since COVID started. That was a few months ago. Even then the burn happens recently about a month ago. I stopped wearing the watch on my left arm to let it heal, and only wore it on the right for when I went running.
I started wearing it on my left arm again leaving it off at night. Forgot to leave it off once and the burn happened again... just less severe as I checked first thing in the morning and took the watch off immediately.
Another argument against an allergy is that I have the cloth band, so not the one with nickel in it. It also happens underneath the actual watch, and that portion of it is glass. And the burn coincides with where the sensor is. Turn on the heart monitor and lift it up, and the green light is on the spot of the burnt.
So what to do if Apple says it as an allergy and does nothing at all?? It is a waste of 400+ euros!!
