Question

music app joining files

I use the Music app to join audio files on a CD to make a consolidated MP3 file. A few days ago, the join CD tracks option disappeared and now I can't join them. I've had an issue before joining files if they got out of order. That's not the case here, they're all in the right order but when clicking on the geared wheel icon, to the right of the Import CD tabs, there's now only the options of Get Track Names or Submit CD Track names...the Join CD Tracks option was below them but no longer.

Anyone else have this issue or know how to fix it?

MacBook Pro 15″, macOS 10.13

Right, I thought it unlikely they would have removed it. It just wouldn't have made sense. The sorting looks fine: 1-12 and the track numbers are in order as well. I've also had the same issue with other cds I've now tried. Here's a screenshot:

Thx, Ed. Yes, the cd is present. The Music app shows the tracks and they’re in order. Ive selected all the tracks as I’ve done many times before but when I go to select the Join CD Tracks option, it’s not showing. I copy lots of audiobooks and had no issue until a couple of days ago when the Join option disappeared.

Ed, thanks much, that fixed it. I didn't realize the Carat symbol was so key. I thought if the serial numbers and tracks were in order there wouldn't be a problem. I'm not sure how theTrack column got clicked on to move the Carat symbol to it rather than the serial number column. I must have done it without realizing it.

HN,

Based on the position of the Carat symbol in that picture, you are sorted by Track. Click that first column (the one with the serial numbers) so that the little Carat symbol is there.

"Join Tracks" only appears if the CD is present and the tracks are sorted by the first column.

I haven't heard of them removing the option, although I suppose it is possible. Are you sure you are sorted by the first column, not the track number?
