Every time I add or delete a photo from photo albums, it syncs ALL the photos to my devices.

I have a selection of my favourite photos on several albums to be synced with my iDevices. Every time I add or delete a photo, the next time I sync my iPhone or iPad, it syncs all the photos. This is very time consuming and ony started happening recently. Before, it just synced whatever new photos there were. Not to mention that the "People" album gets undone every time and takes ages to rebuild.

Does anybody know how to stop this from happening, please?

My devices, iTunes and Windows are all with the latest software.

Please do not suggest I use iCloud for my photos, I don't want them there, plus there's not enough room.

Thanks!

Best idea I've got here is to turn off sync and manually select to transfer photos. Sync is a two way runaway train.

Turning off sync

  1. Open a Finder window and connect your device to your computer using a USB cable.
  2. Your device appears in the sidebar of the Finder window. Click the device to select it.
  3. If prompted, trust your device.
  4. Click the Photos tab below your device's information.
  5. Uncheck the checkbox next to Sync photos

Transferring photos manually on Mac

  1. Go to the photo's app on Mac
  2. Go into device photos with a button showing a phone icon or device name on left tab
  3. Select and import by pressing "import all new photos" top right of screen

Windows

  1. Go to Files Explorer on Windows
  2. Open up "Device Name"
  3. Work through the folders to export the Photos on your device

Someone else here definitely got a better idea.
