some mxf files will not appear in import window after 10.4.9 update

Since the 8/25/20 update to FCPX 10.4.9 - only some of MXF files will appear (be show to me at all) in the final cut import window. For example, a folder (in the original file structure) of MXF clips should contain 50 clips, but FCPX only displays 15 of them as available for import. The previous version of FCPX on a different machine will display all 50 clips as available for import, but a third machine that has also been updated to 10.4.9 is exhibiting the same behavior and not showing all of the clips. Anyone else seeing this?

These files are coming from a Sony FX9 - this show has standardize around this model but it is not the same physical camera each time. I believe all of my MXF files thus far have from from this model camera. One other note is VLC is able to play the MXF files FCPX will not display, and further, Premier will still import them. So far I have tried standard troubleshooting such as making sure permissions on the folders are correct, resetting PRAM/NVRAM, deleting FCP preferences and creating a new library. In all cases Final Cut Pro still briefly shows me all of the clips in an XDROOT folder, but many quickly disappear, leaving only a small number of clips displayed.
