Phone hacked
My son fell victim to a phishing scam. Gave them access to his phone. Now it’s being wiped. No data. What can he do. Help!

First, follow these steps:
If you think your Apple ID has been compromised - Apple Support
and then see ALL the replies to:
Phone is hacked please help - Apple Community
The most serious compromise was most likely of the AppleID. (i.e. gaining the AppleID and Password)
Once they have that that info, they can effectively “be your son” changing account settings, and remotely lock you out of the phone.
Not just his Apple ID but his whole phone.
