Am considering using a 'blacklisted' iPhone for WiFi only (no carrier service). Primary use would be iMessage, Facetime, and basic apps including gmail and google maps. Would a blacklisted phone work in this use scenario?
Appreciate any advice.

Phones are blacklisted because they are reported lost or stolen or the original purchaser reneged on their contractual obligation (meaning the phone was not paid for).
Buying a blacklisted phone is effectively 'receiving stolen property'.
If you want something cheap to do those things, go buy an iPod touch.
Yes, it will operate perfectly with the Apis etc you’ve mentioned above. I bought two recently in good faith. Done all the checks That were available to only discover they were reported loss/ stolen at a later date. I have reported the matter to the police force where I purchased them. But still, I can not and cannot truce the legitimate owners, nor can the network providers (EE). I have provided bank details and further information to the police and I still have the said stolen property but no one, including the manufacturer (Apple) can support me. It’s madness. I’ve lost faith after many years of Being a loyal Apple customer. Time for change. #Samsungalltheway! To many Apple employees on here trolling to so be careful! #trollsdonttrollme!
