No service

I’m getting no service on my phone, and I’ve tried everything my carrier has suggested. I get a pop up message on my phone that says “you can not make or receive calls until your phone is updated.” I have the latest updates installed. Should I restore my phone from a back up?

Thank you! I do have one of those model numbers, and I have schedule a repair appointment at the apple store. I appreciate your help!
