MacBook Pro not recognizing Raspberry Pi Zero W over USB

Heyo! I am trying to make a PiSight Camera and I am about to give it. I cannot get it to work. I have followed the very simple instructions with my Raspberry Pi Zero W. I am using a known good Micro-USB cable that can transmit information. When I plug it into my MacBook Pro, nothing happens.

I've tried:

• different cords
• different Zero Ws
• reinstalling PiSight

I'm honestly at a loss of words. I have no idea how to make it work. I am using a 2017 MBP running Catalina
