Why does the junk mail upon deleting go right into the trash folder instead of just deleting nobody wants to go through all the spam mail in the trash folder it’s ridiculous that when you select all and press delete all it does is just move it into the trash!! what happens if you have important items inside the trash folder now you have to go through all the spam and crap to get to the stuff that you might’ve put in the trash accidentally what is up with that??!!!!!????

My mail (gmail being used in mail) needs to be deleted twice -- when deleting more than one email. Why is this? (I keep seeing this issue being complained about, however no one has offered a solution to it.) Example: I search mail for "nextdoor" and then highlight all the emails. Let's say there are 30 emails highlighted. I delete them. Then they reappear. I delete them again, and the SECOND time, they actually delete. Why does this happen and how do I fix the problem?
