SIM card is not fitting in tray

I got a refurbished iPhone XS and I finished setting it up and I was going to move the SIM card from my iPhone 8 into the XS but seems like the SIM card can’t fit in the tray and stay without falling out. I looked at multiple videos online and nothing has helped. Any suggestions?

SIM card from phone 8 plus won’t fit new iPhone 12 I have just upgrade to iPhone 12 and no SIM card in box. The sim tray is smaller than tray of iPhone 8 Plus so the SIM card won’t fit. Any ideas?

If you cannot install the SIM in that phone you will need to get it replaced.

We got it through insurance because my iPhone 8 was damaged so we sent it back and got an XS as a replacement
