My ipod touch won't connect to itunes!

When I turn on my iPod touch, it tells me to connect to iTunes. When I plug it in, iTunes doesn't recognize my iPod touch. It charges it, but it won't come up in iTunes. I would reset my iPod touch, but my Sleep/Wake button doesen't work. I really don't know what to do. Please help!

I can't do that because it involves the Sleep/Wake button and mine doesn't work.

Yes, you're right, there is a chance to put it in recovery mode if you run the battery down by playing games for example, then connect to the adapter to charge again for at least 10min. Then connect the USB to the computer, hold the home button and connect the other end to the ipod, as described in step 3 of the help article.

I get the "Connect to iTunes" message on my iTouch, but it still won't connect. It's plugged it, but it just doesn't show up in iTunes.
