Find or Search Text Messages by Date

How can I find text messages by date? Is there a way to jump to a certain date in Messages either on a phone or on my Mac? I don't want to search for a certain word or phrase. I just want to see what text conversations I had on a certain date and it takes forever to scroll back more than a year with someone with whom I text frequently. I am running Mojave (because I heard that Catalina was a disaster.)

Provided you have Mail & Messages selected in System Preferences : Spotlight : Search Results, then you can use Spotlight to reveal any message delivered on a given date. For instance, July 27, 2020 in the Spotlight window:

kind:message created:07/27/2020

Or messages from someone between July 1 and July 15:

kind:message from:viking created:07/01/2020-07/15/2020

Spotlight will list the messages it found in that date range, and when you select one of them and press ⌘R. it will open the Messages app to that message. You can hover your mouse pointer over a given message, and the date of the message will float above it.
