Question: Transferring music between devices

I saved 500 songs from CDs on my Mac computer in iTunes a long time ago. They are still on my Mac and an older IPod with a cracked glass. I bought a new iPad and I have been trying to transfer the songs to it. I can’t do it. I have transferred these songs to my past iPods without problems. When I bought my iPad the only songs that downloaded were 30 that I purchased from iTunes. I want my songs that are in 2 Playlists. How do I do it?

What exactly happens when you try to transfer your two playlists to your iPad? Do you receive an error? If yes, what error do you get? The more information you provide us, the better we can assist you.

Please try following the same steps that are offered from this article, and let us know if it helps: Sync your iPhone, iPad, or iPod using your computer

I don’t want to sync with my computer. My computer has older info on it than my iPad. I just want my downloaded CD music off it and onto my new IPad. I do not get an error message. I click and drag my two music playlists to Music listed under my iPad device name but it does not go into the file. It keeps only having my 30 purchased tunes in it.

I have downloaded this way onto four past iPods that have either quit working or I lost. The music is on one iPod that still works but has a shattered glass. I don’t like having to use it or take it with me when I travel in order to listen to my music. I want to get my CD music onto my new iPad.

Scared to sync to my old computer and lose my more current data on my iPad. Did that once and lost a lot of information. It is confusing. I have a Mac, laptop, iPod and now my new iPad.

it always was simple for me to do before. I don’t understand why it has been made hard to do now.
