MacBook Pro getting too hot

i am downloading files that are 50gb and my MacBook gets too hot. Anything I can do to avoid it ?

2012 Mac goes into overdrive when I watch youtube. I have a mid 2012 macbook pro running up-to-date OS that gets super hot whenever I watch a youtube video. This doesn't seem right to me. It shouldn't be doing this. Is there any way to correct this?

QUIT (not just close all windows) background Applications not needed for the download.

disconnect external displays

Use Ethernet rather than Wi-Fi, and turn off Wi-Fi and Bluetooth
