Question: Sudden Shutdown of iMac 2009

My iMac 2009, OS X El Capitan suddenly shuts down while I was having my online class, and it suddenly regains power after a few seconds. What was the cause of this sudden shutdown. Besides from the sudden shutdown that had happened, my iMac had 2 occurrences were it laged as I had my online lecture. What could possibly be the problem ?

Workable but harder for me to work with...the Note tool on the bottom of this editor's toolbar, as shown in the image, to copy and paste the output from EtreCheck. In a Reply before you click post, look for this to add longer texts...
