restore from a backup

I sold my iPad Air 2 and I'm planning to get the iPad mini 5. I did an iCloud backup prior to resetting and erasing the Air 2. When I set up the mini can I restore from a backup or should I set up new?

If setting-up a new iPad, it is easy to transfer data and settings from your existing iPad to new. There are several methods:

Transfer data from your previous iOS device to your new iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

Use Quick Start to transfer data to a new iPhone, iPad or iPod touch – Apple Support

You can also consider Restoring data from an earlier backup - and whilst perfectly valid, is perhaps a less useful method for a new device:

Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch from a backup - Apple Support

I hope this information is helpful to you.
