Upgraded to Catalina, Now constant "Python is is damaged and can’t be opened. You should move it to the Bin."

I just upgraded to Catalina 10.15.6, and now I'm continually getting an error message saying "Python is damaged and can’t be opened. You should move it to the Bin. - Chrome downloaded this file today at XX:XX"

Shown here: https://prnt.sc/udz79r

I click "Move to Bin" hundreds of times and the error window keeps popping up with a new time.

I can't find any app called "Python", although there is a folder in Library with the same name: https://prnt.sc/udz6n6

Any tips on how to fix this?

Discovered that the problem was being caused by an Extension in Chrome.

I disabled all extensions and turned on only the extensions that I needed (some extensions were no longer used)...and the problem has resolved.

Hi there sfozard,

It sounds like after updating your Mac you are now getting errors that Python is damaged and moving it to the bin, but the issue appears again. After moving Python to the Bin as the error says, did you then empty the bin? The app is not actually uninstalled until the bin is emptied. If you want to continue to use this app, please check for available app updates. This article also has some other great steps to try: If an app freezes or quits unexpectedly on Mac.

We hope this helps!
