How do i fix a formatted ipod nano 7th generation

I plugged my Ipod nano 7th generation into my chromebook and tried to use the usb drive on the ipod. It told me I had to format the device (so thats what I did) and it was working fine. until seconds later all of the data was deleted off the device and it came up on the ipod with a message saying use itunes to restore. how do i fix this?

I do not think you can use Chrombook to manage the iPod.

iPods need to work with iTunes (PC, or MacOS 10.14 and prior) or "Finder" in MacOS Catalina (10.15).

You have to plug into either PC or Mac to "restore" the iPod.

Hope you still have your original library in either of the system, in order to rebuild your library.
