Forgot Apple ID but need to update App

Hi, my Mum needs to update WhatsApp on her iPhone but she inherited the phone from my father and no-one can recall which Apple

ID was used when WhatsApp was first downloaded onto the phone.

Can anyone offer any advice? (WhatsApp can’t offer any assistance.)

This doesn’t help unfortunately. There have been a few Apple IDs entered into this phone and we have tried all options we can remember. If WhatsApp is fixed to my Mum’s phone number, I was wondering if this was a way to start getting the problem resolved but it seems not. Still at a loss.
