Boot Loop every time I need to update my phone now

I've had my iPhone XS for about a year now. Within the last 4-5 months, three times now when my phone has needed an update, it gets stuck in boot loop if it dies before I've installed said update. Is this happening for anyone else? 2/3 times now it doesn't even download the new update and just gets stuck in boot loop again and again. I got lucky after the first time this occured, I tried downloading the update via itunes after MONTHS of not having a phone and it just happened to work.

Hi,

Usually when iPhone is unable complete an iOS update in which can happen for many reason you may encountered an apple boot loop.

Usually allowing iTunes to perform the updates and installation it allows the iPhone to update easily because most of the heavy task it’s performed by iTunes.

If iPhone still stays stuck on Apple logo boot loop after attempting iOS updates through iTunes, then you may have to consider performing an iOS Restore and Updates through iTunes, doing this ERASES all your data and sets the device to factory setting while also performing any available update for your device. It goes without saying that before you proceed with restoring the device through iTunes, first verify that all your personal file and data are backed up/saved somewhere or copied somewhere such cloud services or storage devices, and that you have a way to log in to all your accounts such as Apple ID/emails/ etc.

I see,

To be safe I would recommend the following :

  • Switching your lightning cables for another (if you have any extra).
  • Use a different USB port on your PC or Mac.
  • Check that you have iTunes up to date.
  • Check for any available updates for MacOS or Windows (whichever one you have).
  • Restore iPhone through iTunes again.

If you encounter iTunes errors again while restoring the device, then is possible that your iPhone is having hardware issues, but at least doing the steps above helps with narrowing down if an external factor is causing the issue or if it is the iPhone itself having issue.

If you still have issues restoring after all steps were taken, then I would recommend taking it to an Apple Authorize Service provider or simply just go to an Apple Store to get the device serviced.
