screen time not working

Everyone has these problems: Screen time is not working at all or not working properly. I do have multiple issues with that: usage is not displayed properly (usage is shown during night time, when everyone was sleeping), kids can access apps without limit ALTHOUGH I did set a limit, limits do not shut down the usage when the time is used up, and so on...

So, why is apple not addressing this? Why does it get worse with each update?

Someone posted he could fix it (at least temporarily) by logging out of iCloud on his kid's device - but: I can't do this, because the log-out button is greyed out, saying: due to restrictions it is not possible to log out. What restrictions? How can I fix THAT?

Are referring to DownTime, Are you referring to App Limits, Are you referring to Contents and Privacy settings? Nothing is clear.

I am referring to EVERYTHING, because nothing what you mentioned is working properly.

as you can see in this screenshot, his screen time was 1 hr 19 min although screen time is set to 40 min

and as you can see in this other screenshot here he used safari and youtube for 20 min each although both are set 1 min. And to make it even worse:

actually I blocked youtube in the restrictions (websites not allowed)! And he can reach it nevertheless

but that is still not the worst!

the moment he starts using his iPhone, the complete „restrictions“ switch off and grey out BY ITSELF. He does not hack or crack it! We tried it togetjer! He does not use a hack or my password or whatever ...

it is so frustrating

Please get to know how to set screen time and use parental controls.

Go to Settings and tap Screen Time. Tap Content & Privacy Restrictions. If asked, enter your passcode. Under Allow Changes, select the features or settings you want to allow changes to and choose Allow or Don't Allow.
