What is a good app or software for designing and printing photo books at home? I don't want to pay to have it printed somewhere else

The only 3rd party app that works with Photos and will let you export as a PDF so you can print yourself is Presto Photos.
You can also create your own book with Pages, adding both photos and text to each page as needed.
