Phone icon after every call

I don’t know if this is normal. Or what to search for. So here’s the issue

Every time I get a phone call, I answer on my phone. After I hang up on my phone my watch still has a green phone icon.

Hours could go by and I still have the green icon. Clicking on the icon pops up a screen that looks like my phone is still connected and I have to ‘hang up’ all my calls on my watch (even though I never used to watch during the call) to make the icon go away.

It’s annoying to say the least.
