Can you trade in refurbished iPhones?

I was looking to buy an new iPhone and I was going to trade in the one now. I am looking at a refurbished iPhone XS Max and wondered if you can trade in on refurbished ones hone or if that was just for new phones?

Hello,

You can choose when you trade in to get the balance in an Apple store gift card so you would be able to get a refurbished iPhone with the gift card, you can learn more about Apple trade in at this link (Apple Trade In - Apple).
