How to connect iphone to apple tv for a remote

Make sure that your iPhone and your Apple TV are on the same WiFi Network.

Then open the Remote app on your iPhone. You should be able to spot your Apple TV in the remote app. Tap on the name of your Apple TV on your iPhone and then follow instructions to connect it.

does not seem to work after updating iPhone to iOS 14. Can no longer find Apple TV. It found and connected just before update.

Did you update your Apple TV to tvOS 14 as well? If not then do that and try again.

Thanks Axel. Had to manually start the update on Apple TV, not sure why did not automatically update. And then close the Remote app on iPhone and start Remote again from Control Center.
