Where do I find the keyboard

On iPhone and/or iPad where do I start? I don’t see a keyboard on my home screen and. Showing iCloud in upper aL corner but I need a starting point, pls. Thank you

You won't see the keyboard until something needs to be typed. I think you really need to start with the basics...click on this link...
