How can I silence notifications for TEXT Messages except from people in my contacts list?
On my android phone, I can leave "do not disturb" on at all times because I have it set up to silence all calls AND TEXTS from people who are not in my contacts list.
On my iPhone, I get four or five spam texts per day, and numerous phone calls. Since I work odd hours in a critical infrastructure job, people in my contacts list must be able to reach me 24 hours per day. But I cannot get any sleep if I don't use "do not disturb" due to the incredible number of spam calls and texts that this iPhone receives every day.
Our town got me this iPhone because it was free when they added another number to their account, and I must use the iPhone for all city-related uses.
Again, on my personal android phone, the "do not disturb" mode works the way I need it to work. Setting it to silence all but people who are in my contacts list allows me to sleep through the day or night as needed, with only calls AND TEXTS from people in my contacts list allowed to create a notification sound.
But on the iPhone, setting the do not disturb mode to "ON" silences ALL texts, while properly respecting the setting to allow phone calls from people in my contacts list.
I need it to allow both calls AND texts to notify me IFF (if and only if) the caller or sender is in my contacts list.
Is there any way to do this on an iPhone?
Thanks, everyone!
