ipad wifi connectivity

ipad sometimes, mostly, but not always refuses to connect to houseold wifi.

WiFi works perfectly at the same time on other household Apple devices, no problem there.

ipad network settings have been reset numerous times, hard reset has been carried out, shut down start up carried out, software update carried out...

Typing the wifi network password gives the message 'incorrect password'.

Even sharing the password from another Apple device, which is already on wifi, therefore the password and sharing should be seemless...the ipad shows, 'incorrect password'

Occasionally it all works as it should, but will not last long and randomly drop out.

This is a ipad Air 3rd generation less than 1 year old. Bought new Jan 2020.

software version 13.6.1

Any ideas would be greatly apreciated.

Whilst counterintuitive, a restart of your WiFi router may well resolve the problem:

To restart you home router, disconnect power - then wait at least 30 seconds before restarting. When you router has rebooted (which may take several minutes), force-restart your iPad:

  • On an iPad with a Home button: Press and hold the top button and the Home button at the same time. When the Apple logo appears, release both buttons.
  • On an iPad with Face ID: Press and quickly release the volume up button, press and quickly release the volume down button, then press and hold the top button. When the Apple logo appears, release the button.
