No. It’s baked into iOS as it is on Android. Remember, Apple and Google co-developed this. What you and the others choose to ignore is the fact that this software does nothing until you voluntarily download and install a contact tracing app. You choose whether this software does anything at all and that’s the truth.

To be clear, this is no longer accurate.


An app is no longer required, but the tracer is not on by default. You must choose to opt-in and there must be support for it wherever you are located.

Guess what, Apple and Google co-developed this API. If you switch to Android you’ll have it too with no option to remove it, just like your Apple device. The only way to avoid it is to get rid of every smartphone you own and try to find a dumb flip phone.
